From a Single Restaurant to an Iconic Hospitality Brand: The Sumeet Dabas Story

ET F&B Conclave North India 2026 recently brought together leading names from the food and beverage industry, and Themis Barbecue House was recognised as an “Iconic BBQ Dining Brand & Restaurant Chain – Delhi NCR.” The recognition marks an important milestone in the journey of Themis and its founder, Sumeet Dabas, whose vision has transformed a single restaurant in Delhi into a growing multi-concept hospitality group. The certificate presented at the conclave identifies Themis Barbecue House in this category.
For Sumeet, however, the recognition is not just about an award. It represents the journey of an idea that began more than a decade ago — an idea to make dining more experiential, more accessible and more memorable.

The Beginning: Themis Barbecue House

In 2015, Sumeet Dabas took his first major step into the hospitality industry with Themis Barbecue House in NSP, Delhi.
The vision was straightforward but ambitious: create a barbecue dining experience that combined live grilling, an extensive buffet, diverse cuisines, a vibrant atmosphere and the feeling of premium dining, while keeping it accessible to a wide range of guests.
The concept found a strong response in Delhi.
The love of diners became the foundation for Sumeet's next steps, and Themis Barbecue House gradually expanded beyond its first location. Over the years, the brand established its presence through destinations including Panipat, Ambala, Ambience Mall Gurugram and Connaught Place, Delhi.
The launch of Themis Barbecue House, Connaught Place, in 2025 represented another chapter in the evolution of the brand, bringing the signature barbecue and buffet experience into one of Delhi's most recognisable destinations.
Today, the recognition at ET F&B Conclave 2026 adds another milestone to the story of Themis Barbecue House as an iconic BBQ dining brand and restaurant chain in Delhi NCR.

When the Vision Became Bigger Than Restaurants

Sumeet's ambition was never limited to building a successful restaurant chain.
As Themis Barbecue House grew, he began exploring another question: Could hospitality create experiences beyond the dining table?
That thought led Themis into experiential hospitality.
The Themis Mudhouse concept introduced a different side of the brand — one inspired by India's roots, traditional aesthetics, nature and cultural experiences. The journey later expanded into Themis Mudhouse Nature Resort in Singhpura, Rohtak, combining contemporary stays with nature, wellness and outdoor experiences.
This evolution changed the identity of Themis.
It was no longer simply a restaurant brand.
It was becoming a hospitality group.

From Dining to Staycations and Private Escapes

The next chapter brought Themis Farmhouse, a premium staycation and private-event concept designed around comfort, nature and personal experiences.
The farmhouse concept created a space for family getaways, celebrations, group outings, private events and weekend escapes — another example of Sumeet's approach to hospitality: creating destinations around the way people want to spend their time.
Today, Themis continues to develop new farmhouse destinations, including upcoming projects in Aerocity and Gurugram, expanding the group's presence in experiential staycations.

The Greek House: Creating Destination Dining

In 2023, Sumeet introduced Themis Greek House, taking the group into another category of destination dining.
Located on the Murthal Highway and spread across approximately 30,000 square feet, the concept draws inspiration from Mediterranean architecture and the visual character of Greece.
Themis Greek House was created to offer more than a meal. Its architecture, interiors, dining experience and atmosphere were designed to make the property itself part of the experience.
This became another defining element of Sumeet's philosophy — hospitality should engage all the senses.

The Next Horizon: Cafe Casa Dunes

The evolution continues with Cafe Casa Dunes, an upcoming concept in Aerocity, Delhi.
Launching as a new lifestyle experience, Cafe Casa Dunes brings together premium coffee and pickleball, creating a contemporary environment where food, recreation and social experiences meet.
It represents a new direction for Themis and reflects Sumeet's willingness to explore categories beyond conventional restaurants and resorts.
From barbecue dining to nature resorts, farmhouses, destination restaurants and now premium coffee and pickleball, the Themis journey continues to expand into new forms of experiential hospitality.

Taking Themis Beyond Delhi NCR

The next phase of growth is being driven by franchise expansion.
After establishing and refining its concepts across Delhi NCR and North India, Themis is now taking its brands to new markets through franchise partnerships.
The upcoming expansion includes Themis Barbecue House in Greater Noida, Patna and Bhubaneswar, along with Cafe Casa Dunes in Bhubaneswar. New Themis Farmhouse destinations are also being developed in Aerocity and Gurugram, while upcoming projects include Themis Mudhouse NCR Delhi and other destination-led hospitality concepts.
The company's brand roadmap reflects this expanding vision, with multiple upcoming hospitality projects across North India and a focus on experience-driven destinations.

Building a Legacy, One Experience at a Time

The journey from one restaurant in NSP to a growing hospitality group has been shaped by one constant — the desire to create experiences that people remember.
The recent recognition at ET F&B Conclave North India 2026 as an Iconic BBQ Dining Brand & Restaurant Chain – Delhi NCR is another milestone in that journey.
But for Sumeet Dabas, the larger story is still being written.
Themis today represents restaurants, resorts, farmhouses, destination dining and lifestyle concepts. The future is about taking these experiences to new cities, building new brands, entering new categories and creating partnerships that allow the Themis vision to reach a wider audience.
What began in 2015 with one restaurant in Delhi has grown into a hospitality journey spanning multiple concepts and destinations.
One vision became a restaurant.
The restaurant became a brand.
The brand became a hospitality group.
And the hospitality group is now building a legacy.

For Sumeet Dabas, the recognition at ET F&B Conclave 2026 is not the end of the journey.
It is another milestone on the road to the next horizon.
